What to get Your Geek on St. Valentine’s Day

Contrary to popular opinion, geeks can be romantic, too. Since time is getting short, here are a few things on my wish list (Just in case the the Mrs. is looking at my blog…):

  1. Just about anything from ThinkGeek.com.

Here is a t-shirt fit for a Valentine’s gift - they may not wear it around the other geeks, but they will know you care.

  2. A good chair - a REALLY good chair
Aeron chairFace it, we geeks sit down… a lot. Nothing like realizing you just spent 4 hours getting something to compile, because your legs are asleep and your posture has devolved into something akin to Quasimodo. If you going to do it right, check out the famous Aeron chair by Herman Miller it’s kinda’ pricey, but, isn’t your geek worth it?
  3. An alarm clock that works.
ClockyHey, no one likes to get fired for being late to work all the time, and the boss doesn’t really understand that getting compiz desktop effects working just right is a valid reason for over sleeping. Here is an alarm clock that will try to out smart your geek by running away and hiding.
  4. A stapler?
Red Swingline StaplerNot just any old stapler, this is THE Red Swingline Stapler. Still not impressed? It’s OK if you don’t get it, it’s OK if you just want to think of it as a red Valetine’s Day stapler. It is likely your geek will get up and go to work early tomorrow to show it to friends and co-workers.
